MAC is honored that Interior Architects and Mastercard included us in this project creating multiple floors of art installations. The process of creating multiple NYC Street Art murals in MasterCard’s Flatiron HQ will be one for the books. Firstly, MAC created chalk style murals from illustrations derived from photographs of buildings. To create this first mural we incorporated playful and landmark icons. Secondly, we included The Stay Puffed Marshmallow Man and Elmo characters to the mural. Thirdly, we added a historical landmark, The Statue of Liberty. Each character added a bit of color and interest.

The only branded element in the mural is a partial reference to the Mastercard logo. The larger of the two murals has an image of the Flatiron neighborhood the MC HQ is in. To clarify, the two city illustrations are together on a floor in a multi purpose area amongst the offices.

The second mural has a view out of a window above a mid-town roof complete with the window ledge and a flower pot. The third mural is in the bike room located in the basement. In this mural we sprayed the word, “Priceless.” Which has been famously used in a number of Mastercard campaigns over the years. We also doodled with paint marker on a few photographs that are adjacent to the “Priceless” graffiti burner. This added to the NYC Street Art style.
