Jeremy Nichols

Jeremy Nichols was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1982. He is a graphite and spraypaint artist from Portland, OR. After studying printmaking at Ohio State University and receiving his BFA, he made the move to the west coast.

He has been painting murals for little over a decade. Throughout the years, he has been able to paint in various cities across the nation, and collaborate with different artists. Through out his experience, he has been able to work on a variety of surfaces (from cement trucks, to elevator shafts), in a wide range of scales and different mediums.

In his work, he explores the beauty, energy, movement, and the harmony of the chaos around us. He uses recognizable patterns and textures found in nature, design, and architecture in order to create layered fragments of floating clusters of growth and energy. He wants to take the viewer somewhere unfamiliar. He wants them to get lost in their own visual journey within the mural and walk away questioning the beauty beyond our immediate world. He wants the viewer to take a closer look at things they see everyday—things they may tend to overlook.

Please note that featured artist portfolios may not always represent the full range of their artistic ability.  If you would like to see additional examples of past commission work by an artist not shown above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
