Vera Gould

Born in Paris into a multicultural Vietnamese-American family, Vera Gould now calls Oakland, California her home. She has a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics, but has always been an artist at heart. Her style is iconic— swirling calligraphic lines that weave into organic forms. Her paintings play with the polarity of expansion and contraction, chaos and order, folding and unfolding. The result are captivating works that emanate a kind of musicality and breathe a life of their own.
