Wes Winship

From an early age growing up in Vermont, I was fascinated with cartoons and comic books. As I began traveling to San Francisco during Summers, I discovered graffiti and soon became fully engrossed in its art and culture. This led to me teaming up with some like-minded friends in Minneapolis to write and release our own graffiti magazine. In creating this magazine, we learned how to use Photoshop, Quark Xpress, and other desktop publishing software. We learned how to prepare files for print and market our product. These are all skills that were invaluable when starting our own design and screen printing studio, Burlesque of North America.

Beginning as a homemade screen printing shop in my South Minneapolis basement, I have helped build Burlesque into a world-renowned creative studio. Along with my team, we have spent the last 10+ years creating concert posters, t-shirts, album packaging, stage graphics, and more for clients ranging from Grammy Award- winning musicians Arcade Fire to Minnesota Public Radio to Nike Sportswear, and beyond.
