Raised in Kentucky, Wasp has been surrounded by a southern culture built on bourbon, sports and the bluegrass lifestyle. Being influenced by graffiti from a young age he discovered a creative outlet that was not taught in school nor a common practice by his peers. He taught himself through finding magazines, dvd’s, graffiti forums, and exploring the lesser traveled areas of his city. Being centrally located in Louisville, Wasp was exposed to the ever evolving railroad and quickly gravitated to the subculture. 10 + years later he is nationally recognized as his body of work continues to grow.
Wasp’s style can be described as a neo traditional take on graffiti, using the basics of strong shapes and colors to define his letters, while still embracing the primary equation of a graffiti piece. Through layering techniques using spray paint and an assortment of acrylic paints his work gives off a bold and fun presence with a lot of textures and line work to find. In 2016 he started taking his ideas to studio work and began his journey as a gallery and mural artist. Reducing the graffiti to just squares and geometric shapes, he is transitioning the pieces to explore the relationship between what is considered art in comparison to graffiti.

Whether creating large-scale public murals or providing specific illustrative work for clients, I continuously feed on collaboration to find inspiration. My dedication to always deliver my best work is forged in understanding a project’s specific needs and goals, regardless of challenge or complexity. Possessing a deep love of world history, the humanities, and an abundance of curiosity – I am completely dedicated to the craft of communication design through illustration. I pride myself in having respect for each and every project and I savor even the smallest detail that can help bring a vision to life. Forming relationships with others in a way I can be of use, my experience has provided me with a range of opportunities to contribute to many forms of corporate/campaign branding, private art works, and public installations.

I’m an artist and graphic designer, originally from the UK, now living and working in USA. I graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York with a BFA in Communication Design and have spent the last 8 years or so working mostly in advertising. I have simultaneously established my career as an independent visual artist and have been fortunate to partner with several arts organizations including Secret Walls, Pow Wow Worldwide, New Orleans Mural Project, Art Battle, NEON Festival, Northside Festival Brooklyn, Major League Soccer, Rockstar Games and several more. I am capable of rendering in a number of styles: photorealistic, pop-art, cartoon, typographic, black and white or a combination of several. I am skilled in both aerosol and brush murals and am competent across all of Adobe Creative Suite. I’m looking to expand my network for commissioned murals and live-painting events as my wife and I are expecting our first child, so would love to be considered for painting projects.

For their newest location, Make Offices reached out in search of an office mural. Our team designed several murals in a graphic style using spray paint. Highlighted by an overlaid conference room mural, the newest 2000 Penn location takes on some of the youthful energy that comes with being neighbors to Georgetown University. The podcast room features past-time presidential greats and chalk speech bubbles encouraging interaction.
